First, on the Big 5 Daily, South Africa based Mama Money has partnered with Western Union to process cross-border transactions. Through this partnership, South Africa can receive funds from their loved ones living in over 200 countries across borders.
Next, Liquid Telecom has provided VSAT Connectivity services to mbora community hub in Malawi. It will provide free internet for people living and working around that vicinity.

Microsoft and LinkedIn have launched a global Skills Initiative to help 25 million people acquire digital skills. The initiative will bring together existing and new resources from LinkedIn, Github, and Microsoft.
Pending the ongoing investigations of network operators, Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) has suspended the sales of SIM cards in the country. This is because some operators have allegedly refused to adhere to the SIM card registration process, especially when dealing with corporate customers.
Finally, Africa-focused venture capitalist, Ingressive Capital has launched a non-profit outfit to train 1M tech talents in Africa. Tagged Ingressive For Good (I4G), the NGO will provide training and resources for interested participants who register via this link.
