Drum roll! VFD Group has launched V, a virtual banking platform. The group will leverage the platform to provide a personalized banking experience for its users. The platform will; offer free interbank remittance, offer unlimited banking, and create accounts via mobile app.

Next, Snapplify an edtech startup based in South Africa has acquired Teacha, an educator media hub. Snapplify will leverage this deal to expand its service offerings.

There is also news that, temtem an Algeria-based mobility startup partnered Karos, a French company to unveil a carpooling service in North Africa. temtem will through the Karos app offer ride-hailing services to Algerians.

Also, the Ecobank Fintech Challenge is open to all African fintech platforms for applications. The bank is looking to offer $10,000 to a solution that can assist their bank. The second and first runner up will receive $7000 and $5000. Apply here

Finally, Microsot Azure partnered Cisco in a deal that will grant the access to integrate Cisco’s Edge on its IoT Hub solutions. IT and operations personnel will leverage the deal to create edge computing activities.
