Remember Sparkle from 2019? Well, the fintech innovation of Uzoma Dozie, the last Group Director of the then Diamond Bank Nigeria, has officially launched. Sparkle has also been granted license by the Central Bank of Nigeria, enabling the digital bank to offer range of fintech services to Nigerians across the globe.
Next, Harambe, an Entrepreneur organization has launched a $1 million Harambeans Prosperity Initiative. The fund is focused on African entrepreneurs, with aims to help them survive the economic downturn.
Did you hear? Eversend, a digital-only fintech platform based in Uganda has secured $706,000 funding in a crowdfunding campaign. The startup will use the fund for product development, user acquisition, and regulatory compliance. It also plans to leverage the funding to foster expansion to Nigeria, Francophone Africa, and Europe.
Also, Aptive Capital, a US-based company has opened applications for African early stage startups. The platform aims to invest up to $10,000 in startups with social impacts that will benefit their communities across Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Egypt, South Africa and Ethiopia.
Finally, Sticitt, a cashless payment startup based in South Africa has secured $249,000 funding. The fintech startup will leverage the funding to bolster its operational cost in current market rollouts.
