The free voice call feature is already rolled out for Android users and will soon be made available for IOS. It will serve as a cheaper alternative to traditional calls and would be accessible via mobile data subscription and Wi-Fi coverage.
According to Truecaller’s blog post, users make more than 180 million phone calls through the Truecaller dialer per day. They noticed that half of the calls are to other Truecaller users and decided to roll out a direct call option via the app. With this, Truecaller now offers an integrated platform for Messaging, Mobile Payments, Recording, Call Logs, Contacts Profile, and Caller ID. All these are accessible over ad-free tier and paid subscription bundles without the user switching over to another application.

Truecaller is a Swedish company founded in 2009 by Nami Zarringhalam and Alan Mamedi, two students who wanted to create an identity detector for incoming calls. They introduced the free voice calling feature a few months ago with alpha and beta test group users. Group calls will also be introduced soon. Today, Truecaller is used by over 130 million active users daily around the world with offices in Sweden, India, and Kenya.
