UK-SA Tech Hub, Future Females Collaborate to Train SA Women Techpreneurs

The International community of female entrepreneurs Future Females, in partnership with UK-SA Tech Hub is set to train 50 early-stage tech entrepreneurs in the Future Business School Program. The partnership will aid in providing 50 entrepreneurs the opportunity to take part in the next Business School that is set to begin at the end of the month. The women will be aspiring or current entrepreneurs who reside in South Africa and are working on an innovative idea that has the potential to make an impact.

The UK-SA Tech Hub is a UK government initiative that looks to establish links between UK and South African based businesses. The hub supports local tech entrepreneurship in building digital skills and promoting opportunities in the youth and women sector. Future Females co-founder Lauren Dallas said the partnership was borne out of the need to create greater skills development support for SA women entrepreneurs, especially for those in “underserved regions” who lacks access to program of this nature. UK-SA Tech Hub director Shirley Gilbey said the partners hope to assist women to in besting the “pervasive fear of failure” which women entrepreneurs have when starting a business.

The Future Females Business School program is priced at $749, with a three-month virtual incubator that supports entrepreneurs to start and grow profitable businesses online. The program has a 12-content module which includes; writing effective business plans, how to find and reach customers, as well as use of technology to build an online presence and scale. Selected applicants will be invited to a one-on-one consultation with a program team member. This consultation will aid applicants validate their ideas and direction, as well as ensure the program is “the best fit” for them.
