Nine Agritech startups have been selected for Village Capital’s Agriculture Africa Accelerator program. Two winners will stand the chance of winning $50000 each, at the end of the accelerator program.
Village Capital launched its Africa Agriculture 2019 initiative, alongside Ceniarth and Small Foundation. The program involves the selection of startups to participate in a three-day workshop between October and December 2019. Leading investors, mentors and partners will be present to offer mentorship during these workshops.
Village Capital is a venture capital firm that invests in early-stage startups. The company invests in selected enterprises that provide technologies and services for smallholder farmers and address food security issues across the agricultural value chain.

The selected startups include:
Akellobanker which enables Ugandan farmers to purchase inputs on credit.
Agro Supply allows farmers in Uganda to save money for seed and fertilizer, using their mobile phones.
Capture from Kenya provides tech-enabled automated payment services for businesses.
Raino Tech4Impact is another Kenyan agritech that provides solar-powered solutions for preserving and hauling agro commodities across East Africa.
Aywajieune is a Senegalese online platform for fish products.
Complete Farmer is a Ghanaian agri-investment platform.
eMsika is an agro-inputs e-commerce startup in Zambia.
ReelFruit is a Nigerian startup that process dried fruits.
Volta Irrigation is a Rwandan irrigation service provider.
All nine selected agritech startups leverage technology to solve agri-value chain related issues across the continent. Two winners will be selected at the end of the workshop in December.
