At the Meta Connect 2025 event, CEO Mark Zuckerberg introduced the Meta Ray-Ban Display, a pair of AI-powered smart glasses designed to enhance user interaction through an in-lens display and a neural wristband. These glasses aim to provide a seamless blend of digital information and real-world engagement.

Innovative Features

  • In-Lens Display: The right lens features a full-color, high-resolution display that appears only when needed, allowing users to check messages, view photos, or access translations without looking down at a phone.
  • Meta Neural Band: Accompanying the glasses is the Meta Neural Band, a wristband that uses electromyography (EMG) to detect subtle muscle movements, enabling gesture-based control of the glasses.
  • AI Integration: The glasses integrate with Meta AI, providing features like live captions, real-time translations, and visual responses to user queries.

Specifications

  • Display: 600×600 pixel resolution with a 20-degree field of view and 90Hz refresh rate.
  • Brightness: Up to 5,000 nits, ensuring visibility in various lighting conditions.
  • Battery Life: Approximately 6 hours of mixed-use, with an additional 24 hours provided by the collapsible charging case.
  • Control: Gesture-based interactions via the Meta Neural Band, offering a touch-free user experience.

Availability

  • Launch Date: September 30, 2025, in the United States.
  • Pricing: $799, including both the glasses and the Meta Neural Band.
  • International Availability: Expansion to Canada, France, Italy, and the United Kingdom is planned for early 2026.

The Meta Ray-Ban Display represents a significant advancement in wearable technology, combining AI capabilities with stylish design to offer a more integrated digital experience.
