WorldRemit, an online money transfer platform that provides international remittance services to migrant communities, has launched a new service in Nigeria. The feature dubbed ‘Cash pick -up Service’ will allow Nigerians to receive international cash transfer through indigenous banks like FCMB, Fidelity, Access Bank, Zenith, and Polaris across the country.

WorldRemit is an international remittance fintech company that was founded in 2010. The company allows users to transfer money globally through its App or website. It also remits cash to the receiver through partner banks and telecommunication companies.

The launch of this service in Nigeria and its partnership with 20 Nigerian banks will open doors for Nigerians in the diaspora to be able to transfer funds quickly and securely to 1800 cash pickup locations across the 36 states in the country.

WorldRemit’s mobile-first digital model saves customers time and money. The fintech service also enables instant international cash transfer to bank accounts, mobile money accounts, and cash pick-up.

In a statement released by the Fintech company, rendering this service to Nigeria stemmed from the need to offer Nigerians a choicest and convenient digital remittance service, as well as instant cash pickup.

The Managing Director of WorldRemit, Middle East and Africa, Mr Andrew Stelwart, applaud the expansion stride and describe it as a way to promote financial inclusion globally and in Nigeria. He noted that the fintech recognizes the future of international payment and is doing everything to stay in the loop.

Today, WorldRemit is connected to the major mobile money service providers like M-Pesa, MTN, and bKash. Nigerians who want to use the platform can download the WorldRemit Mobile App form Google play store or use the website interface. Both the sender and receiver will be notified when transactions are made or received.
