Ugandan e-commerce startup, Xente, which allows customers from all over the world to buy products from merchants and pay in installments has expanded services to Nigeria; its first market outside of Uganda.
Founded in 2013, Xente develops tools that enable consumers and African businesses to transact efficiently and safely with each other cashlessly and across platforms. It is a multiplatform digital solution which develops ePayments, e-Commerce, as well as financial solutions.
In a statement, officials said Nigerians will be able to buy airtime with some of the biggest telcos, including Airtel Nigeria, MTN Nigeria, Glo mobile; and pay utilities online through the Xente app using Xente wallet, Visa Card or MasterCard.
