Zazu is a start-up that was launched back in October 2015 with the purpose of allowing farmers with excess produce to connect with new markets. Buyers benefited also as they were given a simpler, cheaper way to buy more produce.
Recently, Zazu has started to shift its efforts into launching a digital bank within this year.
Perseus Mlambo, founder and CEO of Zazu explained that digital banking is the “biggest call to action.” This is since over 330 million people don’t have access to financial services such as banks.
Mlambo hopes that Zazu will receive a banking license form the Bank of Zambia by January 2018. Once they receive a license, they may begin their launching of a digital bank.
Zazu brings another great example of the necessity to adapt and change over time to maximize your profits and success as a company. Their research has closely observed what is needed by the citizens of their country and they are reacting in their best interest.
He further explains that giving the citizens of Zambia the opportunity to save their money in a bank will help them to slow down their spending.
The first set of banking accounts will be released in September of this year. It is known that any people hate standing in long lines to withdraw or deposit money in a bank.
This platform will eliminate wasting time and tedious processes by providing an easy to use online process that would only take a few minutes to deal with instead of several hours.
