Andela, a global talent network that helps businesses create remote teams, has added Latin and South American developers to their talent pool.
The company will now begin hiring remote engineering talent from Latin and South American cities and connecting them to opportunities from companies around the world.

This expansion has always been a long-term goal for us, and we’re thrilled that the world is now ready for it. The future of work has arrived, and this extension is part of our ongoing effort to bring us all closer together.”
According to Johnson, when Andela started inviting developers from all over Africa to apply last year, the number of countries represented more than doubled.
The company reports that applications from trained engineers outside of Africa have increased by 750 percent in the last six months.
According to the firm, more than 30% of inbound applications in March 2021 came from outside of Africa, with Latin America accounting for half of that.
“As a company in the developer tool room, a lot of us are trying to reach certain areas of the world (Southeast Asia, Latin America, and Africa) where the emergent developers are coming so we can better understand their needs,” says Dana Lawson, VP of Engineering at GitHub.
Andela is already seeing the same results in new areas, according to Johnson, and is eager to invite new talent into its expanding culture.
Andela says that both Africans and non-Africans in Latin and South American regions are qualified for this opportunity.
