Two years after launching its first digital platform, ALAT, Wema bank has launched a Hackathon for tech startups competition. The program, which is tagged ‘Hackaholics’ will bring software developers and digital solutions to challenges, which will drive business ideas and grow technology in the world.

Wema bank plans to bring start-ups and young tech professionals together, to develop digital solutions which will alleviate financial, social and institutional challenges. All participants will analyse, strategise, brainstorm and develop solutions for the given problem areas, which a team of reliable judges will screen.
Wema bank aims to use the Hackathon as a platform to give innovators, software developers and creative thinkers the opportunity to transform their concepts into solutions that will be developed into marketable software applications. The bank is not just looking to award the best creators, they are also looking to use the project to improve and re-ignite the passion for technology. Which is to build a community of innovators that will constantly work to bring safe, convenient and profitable banking to customers. This will be done through fast and easy software solutions.
