Truth Social, Donald Trump’s latest social media company, has launched on Apple’s App Store.

Users who had pre-ordered the app were able to download it onto their Apple devices.

Those that were invited to utilize the app during its testing phase were able to do so.

Certain users reported experiencing difficulty registering for an account or being added to a waiting with the phrase “Due to massive demand, we’ve added you to our waitlist.”

Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), the venture behind Truth Social, is led by former Republican U.S. Representative Devin Nunes and joins a growing portfolio of technology companies positioning themselves as champions of free speech in the hopes of attracting users who believe their viewpoints are silenced on existing social media channels.

In an obvious effort to increase activity, Nunes was on the app asking users to follow more profiles, share videos and pictures, and join in conversations.

TMTG also secured $1 billion in committed funding from private investors in last year.

TMTG plans to list in New York as a result of a merger with blank-check firm Digital World Acquisition Corp (DWAC.O) (DWAC), and will get $293 million in cash held in a trust by DWAC if no DWAC shareholder redeems their shares, according to TMTG.

According to a regulatory filing, the Securities and Exchange Commission and the United States Financial Industry Regulatory Authority are investigating Digital World’s activities, and the purchase is still months away from completion.

Following his supporters’ attack on the US Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, Trump was banned from Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube after he was accused of posting comments inciting violence.
