We live in the Internet Age and it seems there is an App for everything. Finding an App that fits snugly into your routine and works well is honestly one of the most fulfilling emotions that can be felt. And because we love you, we outlined a list of 9 Seemingly Obscure but Efficient Apps You didn’t know you needed.

PodcastGo

Podcasts finally made its comeback as the perfect way to learn while commuting, exercising or generally working. PodcastGo is a great way to keep in touch with your favourite personalities. It hosts a plethora of interesting shows; over 300,000 in fact and it sorts them by genre while also providing little buffering time. PodcastGo allows downloading for people with unreliable internet and is argued, in some circles as the best free Podcast app around.

OkadaBooks

African Literature has never been more accessible to both the writers and readers as Okada Books integrates itself into the community as a formidable intermediary. For a budding writer, the publishing process is simplified, almost decentralized as it has been made possible to directly access the public. Okada Books for the readers is a great way to successfully monitor your favourite authors, buy their books in your comfort and fill up your imagination. You can also choose to discover new writers.

Clue

Clue is a must-have App for women. It not only calculates the user’s menstrual period, fertile window and Premenstrual Syndrome… it predicts them after prolonged use. Clue is a handy and go to assistant that will help keep track of different areas of the user’s health including sex, sleep, pain, exercise, hair, skin out of many others. With a plethora of features, it is quite surprising to many that it is free.

Photomath

Photomath is an interesting initiative that scans and interpret written math questions and provides an immediate answer to them. Photomath is capable of taking on basic math questions like addition, subtraction, fraction, quadratic equations and can even plot graphs. Although, it cannot solve differentials and Laplace equations yet, it is still a very cool feature to have. Especially for accounting officers, students and the guys that always want to show off to their less tech savvy Grandmas.

IAwriter

IAwriter capitalizes on a minimalist and amoled design to produce an efficient experience. With a simple interface and some features, IAwriter is a quick way for writers to get their ideas down. The typeface is reminiscent of a typewriter and as a writer, that absolutely gets the blood gushing. With it, you can export into different formats including doc, pdf, html and plain text. IAwriter is quite handy and reliable.

Piggybank

In a world that emphasizes on saving as one of the foremost ways to attain financial security PiggyBank has proven itself quite instrumental to this cause. It enables individuals to save their money on its platform for an agreed period, promising 6% interest if the agreement is kept and otherwise, would remove 5% of the money if withdrawn prematurely. Currently, Piggybank has witnessed a boost among millennials and it has over 5 million dollars saved up for customers. If you are out for financial discipline, this is the App for you.

Scribd

Scribd is an all-purpose app for readers of all kinds. It features E-Books for the engaging experience and audiobooks for people who would like to read while doing physical tasks. Referred to as the Netflix of books, Scribd offers an extremely wide range for the average person to consume. Although, it is not without its controversies; Scribd has been accused of unlawfully infringing on copyrighted properties, putting them up on their platform as free downloads. In the user end of things however, Scribd still proves its mettle as an efficient App to be used.

Pocket

Pocket is a great App for on-the-move readers who like to stow away articles to read for later. Giving you the ability to save all types of articles on your device and also adjust their formats for easy accessibility, Pocket has found quite some commercial success in the world with over 17 million users and a billion saves. It is quite the handy tool.

Wakie

There is no better way to start your day than a lighthearted conversation with a complete stranger. Wakie, at first glance seems to have cracked this code, it is an unconventional alarm that links you up to one-minute phone calls from different individuals around the world. A short conversation to brighten your day and start on the right foot. You can choose to wake other people and shake off their grumpiness. If you are a morning person then, this is app for you. If you aren’t, don’t be rude.
