Big news! 19 African startups have been nominated for AfriTech XYZ virtual accelerator Programme. The selected startups will participate in equity-free training ahead of pre-seed and seed-stage funding.

Remember when we wrote that Carbon is planning to expand? Well, the fintech startup has finally expanded to Kenya. They will leverage the expansion to offer loan and payment services to Kenyans.

Guess what? African music sharing platform Mdundo has partnered with Opera to allow Opera Mini users to access its music. Opera Mini users will have access to music from top artists from Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania etc.

Also, a report by Amazon’s Alexa has revealed that sports betting sites were among the top 50 visited websites in Nigeria. The leading sites on the list were Bet9ja.com, Bet9ja2.com, 1xbet.ng, and sportybet.com.

Finally, social network giant Facebook plans to build its own Operating System. They will utilize the OS in running its Facebook Smart TV, Oculus, Virtual Reality & Augmented Reality glasses.
