Dear Techies, the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund, UNICEF has called on all tech startups that provide education or employment solutions to apply for its $100,000 equity-free Innovation Fund. Applications will close on the 30th of September. Interested? Apply here.

Have you heard? The Tunisian and the Republic of Congo’s governments are partnering with the Bamboo Capital to invest in tech-focused impact fund – BLOC Smart Africa. The impact fund aims to identify and develop the next generation of Pan-African technology champions.


Drum roll! Cario-based Glamera, a mobile health and beauty service startup has secured the sum of $250 000 funds in its seed round. The fund will be used to expand its services to other parts of Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

Due to an injustice meted to one young Software Developer known as @toniastro on Twitter by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Nigerian Police force, the tech community led by Bosun Tijani, the CEO of Co-creation Hub (CcHub) have launched a #StopRobbingUs campaign.

Finally, TAI+ an Estonian-based logistics startup has launched a new mobile application that enables truck drivers to connect in real-time with cargo shippers in Kenya. Business owners in the country will leverage the app to access data analytics on cargo transportation.
