Drum roll!!! CBN– the Central Bank of Nigeria in partnership with the Bankers’ Committee, in a bid to boost youth employment in Nigeria has come up with a Creative Industry Financing Initiative (CIFI). The initiative will offer the software developers access to loans of about ₦3 million with a 9% interest rate for 3 years. Full requirements are on the blog! 

Guess what? InDriver, a global ride-hailing startup that allows commuters to negotiate the price of their trip has launched its services in Lagos, Nigeria. The startup aims to bring the best of cab fares by allowing people to set their desired fare while booking a trip. What do you think?

Where are the innovators? Phanes Group—an international solar developer, investment and asset manager, headquartered in Dubai, UAE, has called on startups across Sub Saharan Africa (SSA) to submit for its Solar Incubator. The program provides aspiring solar PV developers the tools they need to succeed, including funding and access to commercial and technical knowledge. Check the blog to apply!

Also, MultiChoice Africa is set to reduce the monthly DStv and GOtv subscription fees charged their subscribers across East Africa for up to 37%. Subscribers across Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and some specific package subscribers in Mozambique will benefit from this discount. 

Finally, Sony–a Japanese multinational conglomerate corporation, has acquired Insomniac the Developer of the popular Spiderman game. The acquisition was done through its subsidiary- Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) in a bid to solidify the duo’s business relationship of over 20 years.
