ECOWAS to Scrap International Roaming Charges for Citizens, AfDB Grants $154Mn to Tunisian Electricity Company and More

The ECOWAS has announced plans to scrap international roaming charges for its citizens, starting from January 2020. The initiative will create an enabling environment for citizens of member states to access affordable roaming services for voice, SMS and data at local rates. So next time you are visiting Ghana from Nigeria, don’t bother getting a local SIM!

We have gist about the African Development Bank. It granted $1154 million to the Tunisian Electricity and Gas Company, STEG. The fund will be used to procure electric transmission infrastructure, provide electricity grids and to improve the quality of energy services offered to customers.
