Hello Guys,

The weekend is here again. As you step out into an amazing experience, here is today’s edition of The Big 5 Daily.

Some companies have brought about solutions to meet the electricity demands of more than 1 billion people across Africa.  Azuri Technologies, Salpha Energy and Innovation: Africa, are the companies spearheading solar electricity distribution with their latest initiatives.

In April, we announced the launch of DHL’s eShop, an e-commerce platform that allows Africans to shop directly from the UK and US-based online retailers. DHL has now expanded operations to 9 more African countries.

Big news! The German government has invested the sum of €1 billion in African startups and SMEs for the G20 Compact for Africa Initiative. The African countries to benefit in this fund includes Benin, Ethiopia, Guinea, Ghana, Morocco, Togo, Tunisia, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Rwanda and Senegal.

ITR Technology, the sole distributor of ManageEngine software, has plans to extend services in Namibia and Mozambique. Companies in these countries will benefit from real-time IT management tools and IT infrastructure optimization.

Neo Hutiri from South Africa has made Africa proud. He emerged winner of the 2019 Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation for developing the Pelebox Smart Locker – a digital drug dispenser for hospitals. Hutiri was awarded the sum of £25,000.

Thank you for reading through. Have a beautiful weekend and make sure you take out time to rest.
