Bolt has taken its ride-hailing services to 7 more cities in Kenya. It now operates in Nyeri, Embu, Nanyuki, Karatina, Kilifi, Meru and Malindi. Bolt is operational in 20 cities across the country.
Good news! Uganda has the highest number of women entrepreneurs in the world. According to Mastercard Index of Women Entrepreneurs 2019, Ghana came 2nd while Botswana, Malawi, and Angola respectively came 3rd, 7th and 9th.
IHS Towers has acquired Brazilian telecoms and infrastructure Cell Site Solutions. Although the deal is pending regulatory government, an undisclosed sum has been paid. This deal will make IHS the leading operator and developer of shared telecom infrastructure in developing countries.

Finally, Uganda Communication Commission is pushing against the sales of counterfeit phones in the country. It has installed central equipment that will be used to identify the number of genuine and fake phones. By 2024, Uganda should be free of counterfeit phones.
