Have you heard? The Lagos State government is allegedly slamming on-demand motorcycle hailing startups in the state with N25 million annual licensing fee per 1000 bikes and an extra N30,000 for every additional bike after the first 1000. Their reason for this, we do not know but we will find out soon. Stay tuned.

Yesterday, we gave you a sneak peek of Interswitch’s IPO plans. Well, here is more.  Interswitch has set all plans to list on the Nigerian and London Stock Exchange in motion. They enlisted the help of JPMorgan Chase & Co, financial advisers, and Standard Bank Group to work on its potential IPO. We will keep you updated!

Farmcrowdy Group, the first digital agricultural platform in Nigeria has announced a unification of all its business subsidiaries. The combined company will now be referred to as Farmcrowdy. Also, all sponsorship options available on their subsidiary business arm, Farmgate Africa will be integrated into the combined Farmcrowdy platform. What do you think?

Also, Enko Education– a network of African international schools based in Johannesburg, has raised $1.4m in pre-Series B round. They plan to use the funds to develop existing schools, open new ones, acquire more and expanding its school operator model.

Finally, Oracle, an American multinational computer technology corporation has announced David Bunei as Managing Director of their Kenya operations. David will be responsible for helping Kenyan public and private sector organizations achieve strategic objectives through digital transformation with the Oracle Cloud.
