Provisions have been made for Nigerians in the diaspora to enrol for the National Identity Number (NIN). The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) through some agents has set up strategic locations in the US for Nigerian citizens to register. This registration will enable easy identification of all Nigerian citizens. The Diaspora inclusion is already ongoing in South Africa, the UAE and the UK.
The Norwegian software company famous for its browser ‘Opera Mini’, is launching an on-demand motorcycle service in Lagos, Nigeria on the 27th of May 2019. ‘ORide’- the new service will be joining the likes of Gokada, Max and Safeboda to ease traffic stress and ensure safe and fast arrival to destinations for riders. The service will be available via the ‘ORide’ app.
The ongoing trade war between China and the US, that has caused the blacklisting of Huawei gadgets OS by Google, is a wake-up call for Africa. Rather than aligning with either of the countries, there is a strong need for Africa to build her own technology that will serve the African needs.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of Nigeria is probing MTN over an alleged shares manipulation scandal. Since MTN’s listing on the NSE, some minority shareholders have accused capital market regulators of scheming with MTN Nigeria to manipulate the performance of share prices. Considering that, MTN Nigeria did not meet the free float of 20% before listing.
