Paga has partnered with WorldRemit to allow Nigerians in diaspora send money home through the WorldRemit app or website to Paga users in Nigeria. Moving on, Uber has added the tipping feature to its app in Nigeria. Tipping is only valid when using a card for payments.

Next on the Big 5, MTN Nigeria has met a requirement of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE). They transitioned from a Private company to a PLC (Public Limited Company) so they can list on the Nigerian Stock Exchange for the public to buy shares. This is in fulfilment of their deal with NCC in 2015.

There is news that, Zipline has partnered with the Ghana Health Service to provide medical drones for delivery to health facilities across Ghana. Zipline leveraged on the partnership to expand outside Rwanda where they launched first. Suffice to say, drones are now used to perform last-mile delivery even in rural communities in Africa, considering that organizations like DHL and Amazon use it to deliver goods to its customers in the e-commerce sector. Great innovation, don’t you agree?
