Drum roll! The long-awaited made in Africa’s smartphone of the Rwandan government and Mara Corporation has been launched! The Mara X and Mara Z phones were released for sale on Monday the 7th October 2019. Awesome, right?

We have news that TechQuest STEM Academy and IHS Nigeria partnered to equip 60 teachers and 4500 students with ICT skills across three states in Nigeria. The companies will leverage a community initiative tagged ‘Mission – T program’ to improve ICT education and empower schools and communities across the country. Interesting!

Guess what? Vodafone has deployed its trial pilot of macro Parallel Wireless’ OpenRAN technology in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The Telco plans to leverage the technology to reduce the cost of deployment and maintenance for Radio Access Network (RAN) operators across DRC.

Also, South Africa-based on-demand cleaning services platform ‘SweepSouth’, has raised R50 million to scale its services. The fund will be used to scale business and develop SweepSouth Shop — an online platform for buying a range of cleaning products.
