As a way of fostering the market of digital businesses in Nigeria, Diamond Bank together with Facebook embarked on an initiative to train over 20,000 Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the country.
This digital training session, which was anchored by representatives of Facebook, SheLeads Africa kicked off in Calabar with over 120 SME customers of Diamond Bank in attendance.
President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria has said that China’s Exim bank will loan Nigeria $328 million in order to improve their ICT sector.
The deal is the latest in a number of Chinese loans to Nigeria since Buhari took office in 2015.
Still on Nigeria, Tech4Her Africa, a start-up social enterprise driven to raise the next generation technology leaders, and also train female developers has won the AngelHack Hackathon hosted in Lagos.
They are shortlisted to represent Africa at the Global Demo Day taking place at Silicon Valley, United States and are joining other winners from 50 cities around the world for the 12 weeks Angel Hackcelerator program.
#StartupAnambra, a Tech Event conference that aims to create an enabling environment for innovative minds within and outside Anambra, Nigeria is set to hold its second edition. The event which is themed; “Connect, Learn and Disrupt” is set to hold in November this year.

Moroccan based start-up, Popaddress which allows rental of short-term retail spaces, brands, designers and business people to rent pop-up stores, showrooms or other spaces for periods as short as one day has launched its marketplace.
Popaddress was launched in 2017 with the aim of democratising access to the commercial real estate by making renting retail space as simple as Airbnb.
