Big news! Africa’s second most populated country Ethiopia has partnered the Chinese government to launch its Satellite into space by December 2019.
Drum roll! AfriLab, a pan-African network organization has appointed techpreneur and founder & CEO of AppsTech Rebecca Enonchongo as its new board chair.
Guess what? After long deliberations, the Nigeria National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) has reached an agreement with bike-hailing startups in Lagos. Under the agreement, the startups will pay N500 ($1.38) daily ticket fees to operate across Lagos.
Also, MTN has launched its 5G internet connectivity in Nigeria. The country’s biggest telecommunications company unveiled the connectivity via a live demo in Abuja. The telco is guaranteeing swift connectivity with a capacity 1000 times higher than 4G.
Finally, US-based transportation company Lime aims to launch its first electric micro-mobility scooters in Capetown, South Africa. The company plans to launch the scooters in the first quarter of 2020.
