Big news! Etisalat has rolled out an Open Virtual Radio Access Network (Open vRAN) in the MENA region. The new technology will power wireless infrastructures in Africa and the Middle East.

Next on the Big 5! In a bid to foster innovation in the telecommunications industry, the NCC has issued 10 new licenses to Value-Added Service providers. The commission believes the new License will boost the quality of services the industry offers.

We have news that Nigeria-based micro-investment firm, Trove has secured undisclosed funding from ARM. The investor will leverage this to globally expand its reach.

Also, phone manufacturers Vivo, OPPO and Xiaomi have united to build a global wireless file transfer system. The new technology will grant their devices access to swift and seamless P2P file transfer.

Finally, Ghana-based fintech startup, KudiGo has deepened its service offerings to Nigeria. This expansion aligns with its move to expand across Western and Eastern Africa.
