Big news! Google has revealed that 12 startups from the 4th cohort of its Launchpad raised $4.3 million, created 300 jobs and registered over 110,000 users.

Next on the Big 5, five organizations have emerged winners of 2019 EQUALS in Tech Awards. The awards cut across, Access, Skills, Leadership in Tech, Leadership in SMEs and Research. The winners include; Dinarak, W.TEC, SheWorks, Kumasi hive and Geena Davis Institute.

Guess what? The Kenyan government is set to gamify the climate change. Tagged the “Let it Rain” challenge, the game will grant farmers access to predict when the rainy season will begin. Participants of the challenge stand to gain up to $1000.

Also, CodeLN an end-to-end technical recruitment platform based in Ghana has launched a digitized marketplace. The automated tech platform will link African techpreneurs to global clients.

Finally, the Bus-sharing platform Plentywaka has launched a beta version of this app. The Beta version comes with the WakaPurse wallet, an optimized routing system, a better user navigation system and a referral system.
