Drum roll! The International Finance Corporation is calling on global healthcare startups to apply for the East African e-health challenge. The challenge aims to match global innovators with over 20 e-health startups in East Africa. Apply here

 

We also have news that a new online lending platform dubbed Spotyloans has launched in Nigeria. The platform will leverage cutting-edge technology to provide loans to salary earners and SMEs in the South East Region of Nigeria.

 

Guess what? Kenya-based agritech startup Farmshine is set to leverage the funding it raised last year to foster cross-border expansion. The agritech platform plans to expand to Malawi later in the year.

 

Also, Kumba a travel startup based in South Africa has deepened its service offering with additional event-linked booking service. Event managers can leverage the service to grant delegates access to purchase flights, book hotels etc. after securing tickets.

 

Finally, Twitter is planning to unveil reply blocker feature. This development is in a bid to promote healthier conversations and minimize online bullying.
