Drum roll! Andela and Flutterwave’s co-founder Iynioluwa Aboyeji has launched his Future Africa Initiative. The initiative will provide about $50000 in funding capital for 20 startups each year.

Did you hear? Co-Creation Hub’s co-founder Femi Longe has exited the Hub after 9 years of serving as its Director. He announced his exit via his Twitter handle, explaining that the new decade is a time to try a new challenge.

We also have news that Dubai-based solar developer Phane Group has secured $67 million to build a power plant in Malawi. The plant will boost electricity generation in the country.

Also, Savannah Fund and Betam Group both based in the US co-led a seed investment round in Orbit Health an Ethiopia based healthtech startup. Orbit Health will leverage the investment to deepen its services to more users.

Finally, the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission issued orders to mobile network operators in the country to suspend mobile networks within a kilometre to the Indian border. The suspension is in a bid to maintain the country’s security.
