Big news! Startup community investor, Seedstars and the Swiss government have partnered to launch the Migration Entrepreneurship Prize for Africa and MENA. The partnership with the Human Security Division of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs will aid startups with socially driven models across the two regions.

 

Next on the Big 5, another new ride-hailing company has launched in Lagos, Nigeria. Yes, you heard right! Solride will be joining the likes of Uber, Bolt and Plentywaka to provide swift and seamless transport services to Lagosians.

 

Guess what? 8 Egyptian startups have been selected for the Consumer Electronics Show (CES2020). The event is currently ongoing in Las Vegas. The 3-day event has over 170,000 attendees from across 160 countries.

 

Also, Facebook is set to launch new privacy checkup tool updates. Facebook will unveil the new updates at the CES 2020.

 

Finally, Antler a global startup generator has secured $50 million to foster its international expansion. Antler secured the funds from Facebook’s co-founder, Eduardo Saverin.
