Under the Women in Tech Programme, which is run by Standard Chartered Kenya in collaboration with @iBizAfrica and Strathmore University, 15 women-led startups have been chosen to receive a 12-week business incubation course.

Seven of these enterprises will then get an investment of US$10,000 each.

With business management education, mentoring, and seed money, Standard Chartered Women in Tech assists female-led entrepreneurial teams.

More than 250 entrepreneurs across industries applied to the program this year, and 15 were chosen as finalists; in past cohorts, only 10 businesses were incubated, and only five startups per cohort won funding.

According to research, female-led startups in Africa attracted less funding in 2022 than male-led startups in the region. This is why we are continuing to finance this program. “We are pleased to contribute to closing the gap through increased capacity building and focused funding toward female-led enterprises,” said Joyce Kibe, head of Standard Chartered’s corporate affairs, brand, and marketing in East Africa. “Women-led enterprises were more challenged by societal bottlenecks and financing limits.

The following startups have been selected:

Ecorich Solutions,

Imani Health Wallet,

Sol Active, Saidiwa Rides,

AgriTech Analytics,

Techtenum Minds,

MyAfya Africa,
