Drum roll! Airtel Africa’s Initial Public Offering in Malawi Stock Exchange made over $30 million. The telco offered 2.2 billion ordinary shares at $0.02 per share, and all shares have been fully subscribed.
Next, the 5th edition of AfriLabs Annual Gathering is set to hold in Morocco. Themed ‘Building a Sustainable and innovative Africa’, the event is slated for the 12th through the 14th of October 2020.
Another one, the Hague Institute for Innovation of Law (HiiL), Qubit Solutions, and IBM South Africa, are calling on legaltech innovators to apply for the Global Legal Hackathon 2020.

Next on the Big5, a Nigeria-based fintech company, Carbon has launched a $100,000 investment fund dubbed ‘Carbon Disrupt Fund.’ The fintech aims to invest $10,000 in startups for an exchange of 5% equity.
Finally, Vodacom has revealed plans to launch its 5G network later in 2020. This comes after duly signing an agreement with Liquid Telecoms.
