South Africa’s technology spending for 2020 is expected to reach $26 billion. The recent predictions are 2.5% higher than that of 2019. 

Egypt-based online furniture marketplace Homzmart has secured $1.3 million seed funding. Homzmart’s seed fund is the largest funding raised from an Egyptian Startup.

Founders Factory has admitted five other African tech startups to its Venture Scale program. The program provided $40,000 funding and tailored support services to its participants. The startups include; Foodlocker, Bwala Africa, EnvisionIt Deep AI, Akili Labs, and LocumBase.

 

Also, a team of Ugandan doctors is deploying AI-enabled devices that will help prevent maternal deaths in Africa. The device will be accessible by over 1000 women who gave birth through caesarean means.

 

Finally, Google launched Tangi, a new video-sharing application. The tech giant noted that Tangi is perfect for DIY Tutorials.
