Let’s begin today’s Big Five daily with the report from the just concluded Worldwide Developers Conference, WWDC 2018.

Few days back, we reported the conference, the American multinational technology company, Apple Inc. has announced a range of latest developments that would upgrade iPhone, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple TV at their annual conference for developers.

Also, Ventures Capital for Africa, VC4A and African Business Angel Network, ABAN have announced 2018 Africa Early Stage Investor Summit which will kick off Global Entrepreneurship Week in Cape Town. The summit will convene on November 11th and 12th, 2018 for the 5th Africa Early Stage Investor Summit.

Oh well, it seems Facebook is in another Data sharing scandal. A publication by the New York Times have it that Facebook reached data-sharing partnerships with at least 60 device makers, including Apple, Amazon, BlackBerry, Microsoft and Samsung, over the last decade.

Facebook is in the news again; for a good reason this time.. Total prize money of $230K is up for grabs for developers that build the best solutions that match online and offline experiences using any of Facebook’s developer tools. Applications are now open for the 2018 Facebook Developer Circles Community Challenge, an online hackathon. Click here to apply.

First women-focused bank now in Zimbabwe. Women Micro-finance Bank (ZWMB) is now available after many delays.

Dear TGA Reader, that’s all we have for today. Do have a great weekend. See you all next week with fresh and exciting tech news from across Africa.
