NITDA Selects Six Start-ups to Represent Nigeria at GITEX 2018…. The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) is planning to showcase the Nigeria’s technology innovation at this year’s Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX 2018).
Six Nigerian start-ups have been selected after a rigorous selection process among over 500 start-up applications received and they will be representing the country in Dubai.

On how this will work, the start-up founder, Nwosu Friday said the platform will, through joint venture with landowners, equally distribute both the land and construction costs among the apartment owners in the building, and let them pay on a milestone basis over the construction period.
Going down south, following its recent investment round of $175 million, ride hailing service, Taxify has expanded its operations in the cities of Polokwane in Limpopo, and East London in the Eastern Cape.
Although it began its Johannesburg operations in 2016, Taxify now operates in eight South African cities including Tshwane, Ekurhuleni, Cape Town, Durban, and Port Elizabeth.
Also, 23 new hubs have joined the list of hubs with AfriLabs. This development totals the AfriLabs network to 123 hubs across 34 African countries and it extended their reach to 4 new countries including Lesotho, Burundi, Mozambique and Sudan.
For the first time in Africa, Facebook’s Fact-Checking Programme Launched in Kenya… Facebook has launched its Fact-Checking programme in Kenya. Fact-Checking Programme is a Third-Party service that will help assess the accuracy of news in Kenya and reduce the spread of misinformation on its platform.
