The World Economic Forum (WEF) has just recently revealed a list of one hundred innovative technology startups that will be a part of its 2022 Technology Pioneers cohort.

The Technology Pioneers list, according to the World Economic Forum, is a collection of top “early-to growth-stage enterprises from around the world that are pioneering new technologies and breakthroughs.”

These startups are setting the pace for change in their respective fields and are tackling some of the most important global issues, such as cybersecurity, food security, and climate change.

One hundred startups from around the world make up this year’s cohort, including six each from Africa Okra, Access Afya, Sendy, Pula Advisors, Ejara, and Ampersand.

“By joining this community, Technology Pioneers start a two-year journey where they participate in the initiatives, activities, and events of the World Economic Forum, contributing their cutting-edge knowledge and original ideas to important international debates. According to a statement by the World Economic Forum, “Technology Pioneers are an essential component of the Forum’s Global Innovators community, which is an invitation-only group of the world’s most promising start-ups and scale-ups that are at the forefront of technological and business model innovation.

The technology pioneers will now join an alumni community that includes some of the most valuable tech companies in the world, such as Google, Twitter, Spotify, Wikipedia, and Mozilla, among others, after being unveiled.
