Big news, London-based venture capital firm Xecced Ventures has launched a $100 million 4thIRiA 1 fund to empower African startups. The 4thIRiA I fund will focus on African startups with solutions that border on the fourth industrial revolution.

Have you heard? Popular music streaming company based in Africa, Boomplay, has partnered with Sony Music Entertainment. The partnership is in a bid to access Sony’s international music catalogue.

Guess what? OPay, the owners of a range of on-demand services in Nigeria has launched OCar. The new ride-hailing platform will be available in Lagos, Owerri, Port Harcourt, Abuja, Benin, Kaduna, Abeokuta and Ibadan cities in Nigeria.

Also, Asilimia, a fintech company based in Kenya has secured $350,000 fund to scale its services across Africa. The fund was raised from the Pan-African investment firm, Unicorn Group.

Finally, Ada, a health mobile application that is based in Berlin has launched a Swahili version of its mobile app. The new version will serve the East African market and help provide information to patients in local languages.
