Horizon Workrooms is a virtual reality app from Facebook that aims to redefine virtual workspace.
Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg said he’d been thinking about how to create an immersive system where people could feel like they were playing games or exploring a section of the “metaverse” since he was in middle school.
“I think of the metaverse as the internet’s next generation,” Zuckerberg stated. “You may think of it as an internet that we are a part of, or that we can be inside of, rather than an internet that we look at on our phones or on our computer displays.”
Zuckerberg explained, “It simply offers you the option to gather around a table with folks and work, and brainstorm and whiteboard ideas.” “People who are unable to attend via virtual reality could video conference in. You’ll need an Oculus VR headset to get started inside “Horizon Workrooms.” The “Quest 2” is presently available for $299.
