Tolulope George-Yanwah has been appointed as Ghana’s new Chief Executive Officer by Jumia, Africa’s leading eCommerce platform.
Tolulope George-Yanwah succeeds Diana Owusu-Kyereko, the company’s former CEO.
Tolulope previously worked for Jumia Logistics in Nigeria as the Country Manager from February 2017 to January 2021, and has worked for the company in various roles since 2013.
“It is a privilege to assume this prestigious leadership role and to be a part of Jumia’s journey to transform Africa through e-commerce.
I’m excited to work with the Ghanaian team to help develop the industry. I assume that my passion for eCommerce, combined with my background in logistics, would help us reach new heights.
“I am excited at the opportunity to impact the daily lives of Ghanaians through eCommerce,” Tolulope George – Yanwah said upon her appointment, “in these times when protection, convenience, and cost savings are of paramount importance.”
Tolulope brings a wealth of expertise to Jumia, having served as Country Manager and Vice President of Jumia Logistics, as well as Last Mile Expansion Manager and Regional Dispatch Operations Manager.
She has also worked for MDS Logistics in Nigeria as a Field Distribution Manager.
She graduated from the University of Lagos in Nigeria with a Bachelor of Applied Science and a Master of Applied Science.
As the business scales to profitability, she hopes to drive growth in Jumia’s Ghana operations.
