Vahak, an Indian-based road transport logistics startup, has raised $14 million from Nexus Venture Partners, Fundamental, iSeed Ventures, Leo Capital, RTP Global, & Titan Capital.
Since March 2020, Vahak has raised a total of $20.3 million.
The funding is expected to be used for acquiring new users, technology, building value-added services such as fuel cards, insurance, GPS, and purchase of spare parts. Vahak said it aims to create an ecosystem for truck suppliers and become the go-to digital solution for them.
Founded by Karan Shaha and Vikas Chandrawat in 2019, Vahak is a free-to-use, open marketplace for shippers and transport SMEs to discover and connect with truckers.
It claims to be helping truck drivers earn more than twice what they usually earn on some major routes across India, majorly by increasing truck utilization.
“Through our platform, we are enabling truck drivers to operate for 25-26 days a month compared with 12-15 days they would operate otherwise,” said Shaha one of the founders of the company.
