Amsterdam-based OpenUp, a medtech platform that enables employees to work on their mental health in an affordable and accessible way, announced that it has raised €15M in a Series A round of funding.
The investment came from Dutch investors Rubio Impact Ventures and Achmea Innovation Fund.
Informal investors, such as Adriaan Nühn, David Vismans, and the founders of Hyves, also participated in this round.
OpenUp says it will use the funds to further innovate its product and help the company enter additional markets in the European region.
Besides the Netherlands and Belgium, OpenUp is already active in Germany and Austria.
The company now plans to expand its services into France, Spain, and the UK.
Founded in 2019 by engineer and psychologist Gijs Coppens, the Amsterdam-based startup aims to make mental health accessible to all by reducing the barriers to health coaching and therapy.
Through its online platform and technology, users can schedule a consultation and are connected with a qualified psychological professional.
Additionally, the platform includes courses, health checks, interventions, inspiring interviews, and talking to a psychologist 1-on-1 via video, phone, or chat.
Currently, the company offers support in more than 10 languages, from English to Mandarin, and Dutch to French.
Over 550 companies in the European region provide their employees with free access to OpenUp’s platform.
