Danish e-commerce startup Medusa bags €7.8 Million

Medusa, a Copenhagen-based e-commerce platform for Javascript developers, announced that it has secured $8M (approximately €7.8M) in a Seed round of funding.

The round was led by LocalGlobe and Dawn Capital, with participation from tech leaders such as Anthony Casalena (Squarespace CEO & founder), Nicolas Dessaigne (Algolia founder), and Scott Williamson (Ex-CPO Gitlab).

The Danish company says it intends to use the funds to strengthen its core product. 

The company is also planning to move to the US with part of the team as part of the seed financing.

Founded by Oliver Juhl and Sebastian Rindom, Medusa is a digital commerce engine that provides extensibility and customisability with low developer effort.

The developer-oriented platform has created a community of +2,000 developers and has already started +10,000 projects.
