Netherlands-based Solarix, a startup that designs and supplies innovative coloured solar panels for facades, announced that it has secured €900K investment from ROM InWest, the regional development agency in North Holland, The Netherlands.
ROM InWest manages two funds – the SME Fund of €60M and the Transition Fund with a target capital of €100M.
The capital will help Solarix to accelerate the production of coloured solar panels for facades in response to rapidly growing demand.
Founded in 2018 by Marloes van Heteren and Reinier Bosch, Solarix designs and manufactures aesthetic-coloured solar panels for facades.
By generating energy in facades, Solarix aims to accelerate the energy transition and achieve a minimum reduction of 25 per cent in CO2 emissions or completely energy-neutral buildings.
With its unique colour technology, design collections, and associated mounting system, Solarix says its solar panels can be fully integrated into sustainable and aesthetic facade solutions.
The company’s team consists of people with knowledge of design (from technology to product and visualisation), architecture, project management, physics, solar technology, finance, and sales.
