British beauty technology company yuv announced the completion of a €10 million ($12 million) Series A funding round to scale its smart hair-colour lab system for salons and freelance stylists, industry reports confirm.
The round was led by Sweden-based growth investor Nineyards Equity, with participation from yuv’s founder Francisco Gimenez, existing backer VNV Global, and a group of strategic angel investors, according to funding disclosures.
Founded in 2021, yuv has developed the yuv Lab, an app-connected, compact dispensing platform that integrates hardware, AI-enabled software and refillable aluminium cartridges to deliver precise, custom hair colour formulas. The system replaces traditional single-use tubes and aims to reduce waste while streamlining salon workflows.
Chief Executive Gimenez said the financing marks a pivotal milestone as the company works to broaden adoption of its salon technology in the UK and prepare for expansion into the United States in 2026. Investors pointed to yuv’s combination of hardware, software and sustainability-focused design as key differentiators in the professional hair-care market.
The funding follows heightened public attention after yuv set a valuation record on the BBC programme Dragons’ Denearlier in 2025, when investors offered combined backing at one of the highest valuations in the show’s history.
Industry observers say the investment reflects growing venture capital interest in beauty-tech solutions that leverage digital tools and sustainability features to modernise traditional salon services.
