Colombian startup Maqui, a platform focused on helping fashion companies track garment production, raised 1.5M in a pre-seed round.

The capital injection was led by Marathon Ventures, with the support of other investors such as Nido Ventures, Integra Group, Kuiper, and Noa Capital, as well as organizations dedicated to reducing textile overproduction and promoting sustainable practices in the fashion industry.

Maqui will use the funds to improve the software, add features, and expand the sales team to attract customers, including businesses that produce over 100,000 textile units per month. Maqui, present in Colombia and Mexico, manages the traceability of more than 200 million garments a year.

This platform seeks to transform the relationship between brands and suppliers, promoting efficiency and sustainability in fashion.

Maqui, which already operates in Colombia and Mexico, was founded by Colombians Sebastián Obregón and Andrés Londoño, together with Mexicans Melina Cruz and Enrique Osorio, who have previously worked in other startups such as Clara and Platzi.
