Sony Pictures Television (SPT) has launched Sony One, an app platform built in collaboration with MTN Nigeria.
Sony One offers a range of SPT film and television favorites, which can be accessed through special MTN mobile data packages.
MTN customers can use the app to download SPT content and rent the new Hollywood blockbusters at low rates. A three-day free trial is also available to new users.
MTN’s commitment to providing a superior digital experience for consumers is strengthened by this alliance.
“Sony One is tailor-made to the increasingly flexible way we see media being consumed in Nigeria and across Africa,” said John Rossiter, Executive Vice President, Networks and Distribution for Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (CEEMA), who oversaw the creation of the app at SPT.
“The launch is the beginning of an exciting journey for SPT. We’ve spent the last few years analyzing and assessing the most successful ways to serve and interact with this hugely important continent with our excellent SPT material. It’s an honor to start this website, and there’s no better partner than MTN in Nigeria to do so with.”
Srinivas Rao, MTN Nigeria’s Chief Digital Officer, said: “We are proud of our partnership with Sony Pictures Television.” This relationship is in line with our GoodTogether philosophy; it will ensure that our consumers, who are at the center of all we do, have access to high-quality foreign content, such as movies, music, and their favorite shows, all in one app.”
Users will be able to choose from four different plan types, including streaming packages that provide data and access to the Sony One service, binge plans that provide inexpensive streaming on the platform, content rental plans, and content only plans.
