Ride-hailing firm, Careem for the first time in Africa launched a bus-booking service in Egypt. This is new development coming after Careem invested $500,000 in Egyptian tech start-up Swvl, which offers bus booking services on its own mobile app.
South African based insurtech start-up, Naked has secured yet, another R30-million ($2.2 million) from private investment group, Yellowwoods and insurance company, Hollard. The start-up plans to grow its team, ramp up customer acquisitions and expand into new short-term insurance product categories.

Safaricom has launched an AI chatbot for customer care and it is called Zuri. The AI chatbot allows Safaricom users to interact on Telegram and Facebook Messenger. It also enables Safaricom mobile data users to manage their subscription services, view subscriptions and unsubscribe from chargeable SMS services.
