The world’s largest online retailer Amazon’s cloud computing subsidiary, Amazon Web Services (AWS), has expanded its presence in Africa by inviting early-stage startups to apply to participate in the AWS FinTech Africa Accelerator’s first cohort. 

In order to provide CEOs and CTOs with a wide range of tools, including strategy, tech team management, product development, and assistance in assisting founders get ready to navigate the complexity of financing, the equity-free program is designed to work closely with them. 

Hosted by the renowned Startup Loft Accelerator at Amazon, the AWS FinTech Africa Accelerator will put an emphasis on African businesses working in financial and related fields. 

Selected startups will join AWS’ Activate program, which will provide founders with numerous more services in addition to up to US$25,000 in Activate credits. 

Also, founders will participate in a series of workshops and one-on-one meetings given by industry experts that are intended to address the unique opportunities and problems that each firm faces. 

The deadline for applications is April 27.
