For the first Google for Startups Accelerator: Women Founders Africa Program, 15 startups from across the continent have been selected.

One bootcamp per month is part of the 12-week program, which starts this month. Selected participants will have access to Google products, mentoring from business professionals, resources, tools, and technology, as well as networking opportunities and connections with investors to help their startups grow.

Five of the chosen startups are from Kenya: eWaka, Farmer Lifeline, MosMos, Gobeba, and Zydii.

The cohort is completed by Afriwell Health (Congo), Jem HR (South Africa), Kola Market (Ghana), Mipango (Tanzania), and Suitch.

Hepta Pay and Smart Ikigega are from Rwanda (Cameroon).

“We are excited to reveal the firms that have been chosen for the Google for Startups Accelerator Africa: Women Founders Cohort’s inaugural cohort. We’re thrilled to help these women as they create the future since they are tackling some of Africa’s most important issues, according to Folarin Aiayegbusi, Google’s head of startup ecosystem for Africa.

At the same time, Google unveiled Hustle Academy, a bootcamp-style training program aimed at assisting business owners in growing their revenue, positioning themselves for investment, and creating long-lasting enterprises. Google has scheduled six Hustle Academy cohorts with a female focus for the entire month of March in Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa as part of its festivities for International Women’s Day.

To apply to be a part of these cohorts, women business owners in these countries can visit the website.
